Workshop #261015W-2
Foundational Reading for Older Students, grades 4-8.
$50.00
Description
*An older student who struggles with reading needs something different from a scaled-down primary program.
This session focuses on what works for students in grades 4 through 8: sorting quickly between a decoding need and a comprehension need, using assessments you already have to find the pattern, and teaching multisyllabic words and morphology, which pay off in both word reading and vocabulary. Participants also work through the practical questions of materials, grouping, and timing.
Intended Audience:
Intermediate and middle school ELA and special education teachers, interventionists, coaches and instructional assistants
