AA #2001 for USF students
All new teacher evaluators in Illinois need to pass the two day Teacher Evaluator Initial Training. These trainings will provide participants with the knowledge to:
* identify and disseminate minimum state requirements, performance standards and best practices
* facilitate a common language and dialogue around performance and its impact on school improvement, professional practice, and student outcomes
*encourage collaboration, learning, and alignment among stake holders
*bring a fully charged laptop

The cornerstone of successful leadership is our ability to build and maintain positive relationships. In today's fast-paced, hyper-connected world, it can be difficult to build authentic connections meaningfully. This academy will present how leading with relationships has major benefits in 7 key areas. For each area, we'll connect science and research to the daily practice of an educational leader, provide examples from Hollywood, and engage the participants in strategies and activities that can be used with colleagues right away.

This Academy will take place FtF.

Beginning July 1, 2024, this is the required Academy to fulfill the Initial and/or Refresher training requirement for those that wish to obtain the credential to evaluate Principals and Assistant Principals, or for those that already have the credential & need to refresh to retain the credential.
This is a two-day, in-person Academy.
Coffee service & lunch provided both days.

All participants (Initial & Refresher) are required to complete and submit the pre-work at least three (3) days prior to the Academy.

Teacher and Administrator Evaluator Retraining: Student Growth (Academy #3000)

This is the one required student growth retraining course for teacher and administrator evaluators who are renewing their designations required to evaluate educators.

Participants will learn how to:
1. Use assessments and measurement models identified by the joint committee in determining the student growth attributable to individual teachers/principals and understand how different types of assessments are used for measuring growth;
2. Use data from the evaluation rubric, other evidence collected, and best practices relative to evaluating student growth to link teacher/principal and school-level professional
development plans to evaluation results;
3. Create, in collaboration with teachers/principals, supportive, targeted professional development plans that consider past results, contribute to professional growth, and assist teachers/principals in aligning professional development and goal setting to school improvement goals; and
4. Communicate evaluation outcomes and findings in constructive and supportive ways that enable teachers/principals to set goals and improve practice.

NOTE: Participants will have to complete their A/D Component and send their completed E-Template, if used, to the presenter during the Academy for review and comment.


Laptops required for all participants in order to complete your Application/Dissemination activity.

Application/Dissemination must be completed to receive full contact hours.
PD Credits only= 6.30 contact hours

This one-day course focuses on understanding implicit bias, differentiating for equity, & coaching more deeply when evaluating student growth for special education, English learners, & early childhood students.

Upon successful completion, the individual will have satisfied the requirement for retraining in student growth. This AA must be paired with one of the AAs focused on professional practice for the population you evaluate to fulfill the entire retraining requirements.

A Welcome Email will be sent prior to the AA with any materials needed.
