John Hattie's research in Visible Learning offers data-driven roadmaps to effective teaching & learning. How does this apply to our day to day instruction in mathematics? In these sessions, we will focus on bridging Hattie's research and content from the book Visible Learning for Mathematics: What Works Best to Optimize Student Learning with actionable strategies & philosophies for anyone with a stake in math education. I will highlight the high-effect size practices, and share practical classroom routines that embody visible learning in mathematics.
Participants will understand key concepts as they relate to Hattie’s Visible Learning in Mathematics, learn high-impact strategies with strong effect sizes, gain practical tools & classroom routines to make student learning more visible and measurable, reflect on math class culture, and cultivate clarity, feedback, and growth in mathematics. These sessions will empower participants to implement evidence-based strategies that truly accelerate mathematics learning.
