Kendall Youth Employment Program

Selection into the program is based on eligibility criteria, reliability, and the potential for success in the program.            For a printable PDF of this information, click here.

To be eligible, youth have to

be 16-24 years of age and live in Kendall, Kane, or Dekalb counties

and have one of these factors:

  1. need to get a GED*
  2. be a young parent*
  3. be on probation or in the court system*
  4. need assistance to get a job and also meet the income guidelines inside the green box below

Different ways to meet income guidelines for factor #4

    1. Youth’s name appears on an Illinois Link card
    2. Total of family household income is less than the chart
    3. Youth lives with non-family member and youth’s income is less than $5,885 in last 6 months
    4. Declare youth to be homeless
    5. Declare a disability; having an IEP when in school qualifies as a disability
